"Having the fewest wants, I am nearest to the gods"

This is a statement made by Socrates. I got attracted to the concept: WANTS. Who doesn't?
We all want something always in every stage of our life.
It goes like...
I want toy
I want chocolate
I want my mum to be with me always
I want my dad to take me to theme park
I want my dad to get me some expensive video games
I want to finish off my homeworks
I want my annual holidays all the time
I want to get into good professional college
I want to clear my papers with all A+
I want to get job through campus placement
I want to get admission to one of the high ranking universities abroad
I want to get a nice part-time job
I want to get a full-time job
I want to get a better job with more money
I want to get permanent residentship to settle in abroad
I want to stay close to family
I want to get married
I want to have kids
I want more money to make everyone happy in my family
I want peace
I want to be like someone who does not want anything
.....
When Socrates mentioned about fewest Wants, Is it something like we need to live with what we get or what we come across or what we have?
